Byron is planning to marry Carolina, after six months together, with the ceremony taking place at the hotel. Gigi and Santiago made a deal to sell the hotel to his business, Huangfu Development, and turn the hotel into luxury condos. Santiago’s children, Alicia and Javi, are not happy about the deal.
On the night before the wedding, Carolina visits rapper El Rey in his room to talk about her sister, Yoli, before she kisses him. Later, Alicia stops by and finds El Rey in a robe and Carolina in a towel.
The day of the wedding, Gigi gives Alicia a necklace that matched her mother’s in the hopes it will silence her about the affair. When Gigi thinks Alicia has left, she calms Carolina down, telling her Alicia "doesn’t have the balls" to tell, only for Alicia to overhear and reveal Carolina's affair to Byron.
During the wedding ceremony, Alicia lets Gigi know she heard what she said before Byron announces to everyone that Carolina cheated on him with El Rey the night before and attacks El Rey, with Danny managing to break up the fight.
Art of Darkness[]
Byron returns when Santiago needs a favor from him; he wants him to be a silent partner. Byron tells him he will consider, only if Carolina apologies for cheating on him. Carolina meets Byron in the lobby and apolgizes, but Byron suddenly begins talking about her looks. They later decide to get back together. Yoli, however, points out to Carolina what a good relationship looks like and wants her to have that too. Carolina demands that Byron gets to know her better, which he eventually does by giving her a 6.2 carat ring, a bigger version of the one worn by Reese Witherspoon in Carolina’s favourite movie "Sweet Home Alabama."
